Welcome to the Cook’s Lobster House blog. You will find information about the restaurant, lobster wharf, services and events. We will blog about our achievements and the sights and sounds of our great location.
Cook’s Lobster House has been amazing guest for over 50 years. We have inside or outside seating for our guest. We can accommodate gatherings as large as 180 in our cozy, nautical themed dining rooms. Both rooms provide expansive views of the pristine waters surrounding the restaurant. A working lobster harbor and the only crib stone bridge in the world can be marveled at from
every seat.We prepare lobster bakes on our point surrounded by water on 3 sides. You will experience the beauty of the Maine coast with working lobster boats, wonderful sailing boats and the only Cribstone bridge in the world.
Portland’s Casco Bay Cruise Lines offers a coastal tour to and from our dock the end of June through Labor Day. Cruise the breathtaking waters of coastal Maine. Board in Portland, ride to Bailey Island and enjoy lunch at Cook’s before your return trip or board on our dock and take a 2 hour round trip cruise. View local lobster men tending their traps, Admiral Peary’s home on Eagle Island and a large variety of wild life including bald eagles, osprey and perhaps a harbor seal or two.
Cook’s is open year round. Cooks is 40 Minutes north of Portland and just 10 minutes south of Brunswick on route 24. It is a beautiful scenic drive along coastal Maine. Whether you arrive by land or by sea, Cook’s Lobster House is what Maine is all about.

Wondering about the food at Cook’s Lobster House?
Since 1955, we have been serving Maine lobsters fresh from the waters surrounding Bailey Island. All of our seafood and meats are of the highest quality and our lobster, shrimp, scallops, and shellfish are purchased right at our wharf to ensure supreme freshness!
For old fashioned fun, book a lobster bake on Cook’s Point for your next function. Don’t forget to view our menu. We welcome groups as well and offer special group menus.
Here are folks who experienced our lobster sauce at the Harvest on the Harbor food event.

After re-visiting Bailey Island several weeks ago to do more research for my website I am reminded of how absolutely gorgeous the area is. And what an ideal location you are in with your restaurant – fantastic panoramic views from indoors and out! The food was great. We could tell by the number of locals that were visiting that afternoon that they must think so also!
Thanks Liz,
We love our location and we are glad you do to. You site is awesome. Keep up the great work.
Not only did we have a fabulous lobster dinner in a beautiful location, but were treated so well by the staff – even after we left. I had realized that I had left my very expensive prescription sunglasses at the table that night – but we were already over 100 miles away. I called the next morning and June assured me that she found them and would hold them for me when we came back through the area on our way home. Well, we couldn’t get back through Bailey’s Island on the way home, so I called June. She offered to mail them back to my home – and sure enough, when I arrived, they were in the mail. I want to thank everyone at Cook’s for a wonderful meal – and for helping me out!

Sandi,
Thanks for the kind words.
Glad we could help.
We wanted to go somewhere different for our anniversary dinner. I went on line at 8am and found Cook’s Lobster House. We took route 1 all they way down until route 24, what a beautiful day. The #1 Downeaster was absolutely superb! We are already making plans to visit next year! As much as we want to keep this restaurant a secret~we have told everyone to visit. They will not be disappointed. Our waiter Dakota was awesome!
Joni,
We are so glad you enjoyed your meal. Congratulations on you anniversary, thank you for choosing Cook’s. We have let Dakota know of your kind words.
Why are there no pictures of the employees? It would make it so nice to see the hostess, wait staff, chef and managers photos.
Jenny,
We will be having pictures of our crew soon. You can see some great pictures on our Facebook fan page if you have chance click the Facebook link and check out our photo album of our crew.
Great job Pete!
